Mettle. Proven skill and nerve under pressure.
Forge your future in the trades.
Mettle is the apprenticeship training platform for HVAC and plumbing shops. Self paced online instruction your apprentices actually finish, OJT hours tracked from the field, and the compliance paperwork generated for you.

The problem
Your apprentices need 144 hours of instruction a year. Somebody has to make that happen.
Registered apprenticeship is the right way to build technicians. It is also a paperwork machine: related instruction hours, work process tracking, mentor sign offs, wage progressions, state reporting. Most shops bolt together a third party curriculum, a spreadsheet, and a prayer.
Mettle replaces that stack with one system built by someone who has run it from the inside.
Self paced RTI
Complete four year course sequences written for working apprentices. Short lessons with audio narration, real seat time enforcement, quizzes that gate progress, and EPA 608 prep built into Year 1. No textbooks to buy, ever.
OJT tracking that works in the field
Apprentices log hours from their phone, even in a basement with no signal. Foremen approve the week in two minutes. Hours lock once signed, corrections leave a trail, and nobody retypes anything into a spreadsheet.
Paperwork you hand to the state
Transcripts, hour summaries, and competency records generated per apprentice, formatted for what Virginia actually asks for. Three year retention handled. When the audit comes, you print and hand it over.
The field app
The app your techs will actually use.
Logging hours takes about fifteen seconds: pick the work process, punch in the hours, done. It works offline in a mechanical room and syncs when the truck gets back in signal.
The progress view shows every apprentice exactly where they stand: approved hours against the 8,000 hour requirement, what is awaiting sign off, and their current wage step. No spreadsheet, no guessing, no end of year scramble.

The programs
Two trades. Four years each. Built to the registered apprenticeship standard.

The records
Proof you can put in front of the state.
Every signed hour and completed course rolls into a live transcript per apprentice: the program standard, hours by work process against targets, every attestation, and wage progression. When the audit comes, you print it or export it. No reconstruction week.
